For the 2024-25 plan year, your health plan is switching to TRS-Active Care.

 

Medical benefits will be administered by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) and pharmacy benefits will be provided by Express Scripts.

We want this transition to be as smooth as possible! Here’s a checklist of things you can do today to be prepared for your May 13 – May 31 enrollment :

  • Learn about the coverage online. You can explore the BCBSTX medical plan and the Express Scripts pharmacy plan.

  • Sign up for TRS’ health newsletter, The Pulse. This monthly newsletter has benefit details, health and wellness tips, and updates from TRS-ActiveCare. 


  • Save the number for Personal Health Guides (PHGs) in your phone. A PHG is your 24/7 customer support. They can answer billing questions, help you find providers, get you cost-estimates – anything TRS-ActiveCare! Their number is 1-866-355-5999. Learn more about PHGs.

  • Download the BCBSTX app. This way, once your benefits start on Sept. 1, you can start to use it immediately. The app also offers another way to reach out to PHGs through a chat function.

  • Check out BCBSTX’s “How To” video series! These are short videos that give you how-to’s for different aspects of TRS-ActiveCare.
