About EISD

About Us

Edgewood Independent School District was established in 1950 on the west side of San Antonio, Texas. Edgewood ISD serves nearly 10,000 students with over 20 schools and programs.

Edgewood ISD
is an open boundary and open enrollment district - which means EISD students can attend any campus regardless of boundary zoning, plus any student in Bexar County can attend any EISD school.

Why choose Edgewood?  We offer five academically focused innovation zones to jumpstart your student's future. These zones will eventually serve all grade levels of students - prekindergarten to high school and beyond.

  • Early Childhood ZoneStudents as young as 6 weeks to 3 years old are introduced early to developmentally age-appropriate learning.
  • Fine Arts ZoneStudents have the opportunity to work with various forms, such as audio/visual production, piano, graphic design, theatre, ceramics, painting, and more.
  • Leadership Zone - Students develop leadership habits such as integrity, communication, courage, self-awareness, empathy, and respect through the International Baccalaureate® (IB) program (candidacy pending).
  • Public Service ZoneStudents have the opportunity to develop their skills in health services, hospitality, governmental relations, culinary arts, and much more.
