Memorial High School has welcomed a new member to the Minuteman family. Mr. Paul Ortega has been named the new head football coach and athletic coordinator for the campus. A graduate of Southwest Texas State University, Ortega has previously served as the defensive coordinator at several San Antonio area high schools, including his most recent position at Madison High School.
Throughout his career he has lead several playoff teams, and has also coached basketball and track where he was a part of Judson’s State Track & Field Championship Team in 2013.
Coach Ortega believes in student athletes participating in multiple sports so they remain active and engaged while representing their school year round. He is excited for the opportunity to work with the students at Memorial High School and throughout Edgewood. His mission is to challenge students academically and athletically everyday to build character while giving students the best opportunity to excel in the sports they choose.
