"This year we were able to award nine scholarships to Edgewood seniors, totaling $72,000 and we're very proud to give back to our school district," said Ruben Rendon, Compadres for Scholarships President.

Every year, the organization provides scholarships and community assistance for Edgewood ISD children and their families. They make connections in the community and support clothing, food or shelter needs. It is through their hard work of hosting various events and fundraisers they raise money to give back to their community. The money remaining after scholarships are awarded goes to campus and district programs including Las Palmas Writing Boot Camp, Winston Robotics, Stafford Safety Patrols and more.
"Thank you so much for this," said Superintendent Dr. Hernandez, as a round of applause begins "This is for the students! It's all for the kids."
Edgewood ISD appreciates and thanks the Compadres for Scholarships for their endless support and dedication to student success.
