The 11th Annual Salsa Bowl between John F. Kennedy and Memorial High Schools took place on Friday, November 8, 2019 at Veterans Stadium. It was a night of great football and delicious salsas.
The evening kicked off with a Salsa Cook-Off Challenge at Brentwood Gym. Edgewood Fine Arts Academy won the Salsa Cook Off for their second year in a row with their raspberry chipotle salsa. Other winners of the competition were Henry B. Gonzalez Elementary in second place and EISD Finance Department in third place.
Later at the stadium, alumni, community, and students all came together to root on their favorite team, the Memorial Minutemen and John F. Kennedy Rockets. Memorial took the trophy home with a score of 28-0.
