UT Health of San Antonio School of Dentistry students kicked off their free dental health sessions for second grade students at Roy Cisneros Elementary. The campus is now a permanent home to a fully-stocked dental resource program that provides oral evaluations/exams and makes appropriate referrals to community clinics if needed.

"This may be the only opportunity some of our students have to receive extensive dental care services and oral health instruction. Thus, this can prevent future problems such as gum disease, cavities and tooth decay as they get older," said Jennifer Milla, District Nurse Coordinator.

After evaluations are completed, children are given toothbrushes, toothpaste and floss to take home, compliments of the UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry.
