Javier Uribe, EISD CTE Director

Edgewood ISD Director of Career and Technical Education Javier Uribe  will represent EISD and Alamo STEM Ecosystem as a Department of Defense STEM Ambassador for the 2023-24 school year. The DoD STEM Education Consortium and DoD STEM choose the ambassadors based on their dedication to working with students who are historically underrepresented in science, technology, engineering, and math and/or are connected to the military.

As part of his role, Mr. Uribe will work with other ambassadors to develop remote learning and digital lesson plans, activities for students and other digital materials. He’ll also share creative ways to engage students and educators in STEM fields.

Of the 26 Ambassadors chosen for the 2023-24 school year, Mr. Uribe is one of two from Texas.  The DoD STEM Ambassador Program aims to promote STEM learning across the country in all levels of education.
