Edgewood ISD is proud to spotlight our Director of Family Engagement, George Garnica, who serves as the River Walk Duke for the 2026 River Walk Royal Court!

He serves as part of a proud group of ambassadors representing Visit San Antonio and the iconic San Antonio River Walk during Fiesta and throughout the year. 🪅

George is helping lead the way in one of the most meaningful parts of the Royal Court’s mission: supporting scholarships for students pursuing careers in hospitality and tourism. Over the past eight months, he has contributed to fundraising efforts benefiting the San Antonio Hospitality Foundation, raising over $22,000 individually. Together with his fellow courtiers, the Royal Court helped set a new record, raising more than $152,000 for student scholarships. These efforts directly open doors for the next generation of industry leaders right here in our community.

During Fiesta 2026, George will proudly represent the River Walk Royal Court at signature events including:
🎉 Texas Cavaliers River Parade (April 20)
🎺 Ford Mariachi Festival River Parade (April 23)
🎭 King William Parade & Fiesta Flambeau Parade (April 25)
