Don't be surprised if you see the Kennedy Volleyball Team wearing orange or gold ribbons this month alongside their Rocket green. While most seasons are focused on earning victories on the court, this season the team is celebrating an even bigger victory off the court for one of its greatest supporters.
Annie Cordero, a third-grade student at Roosevelt Dual Language Academy, is back where she belongs: in the classroom and in the bleachers cheering on the JFK Rockets. After bravely battling leukemia, Annie is once again able to support her favorite team in person and she's been named an Honorary Rocket.
During Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the Kennedy Volleyball Team proudly stands with Annie and her family. Her sister, Jaelee, captain of the Kennedy Volleyball Team, has inspired her teammates to rally around Annie throughout her journey. The Rocket Family is honored to be part of Team Annie, surrounding her with love, encouragement, strength, and support every step of the way.
