EISD earns perfect FIRST financial rating award from TEA

Edgewood ISD is proud to announce that it has earned a perfect score of 100 out of 100 on the Texas FIRST (Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas) accountability rating. This is the first time in district history Edgewood ISD has received a perfect score.

The FIRST rating is the highest financial accountability award given by the Texas Education Agency. It recognizes school districts that manage their finances responsibly and use taxpayer dollars wisely.

This achievement was earned by Edgewood ISD's Business Operations and Academic Services Departments. Superintendent Dr. Eduardo Hernandez recognized their hard work and commitment to excellence, transparency, and strong financial practices which helped the district achieve the highest score possible.

“This achievement reflects our commitment to the priorities we hear from our community,” said Dr. Hernandez. “By managing finances responsibly, supporting student success, and planning carefully for the future, we are ensuring that every dollar entrusted to us is used wisely.”

The perfect rating places Edgewood ISD among the state's top-performing districts for financial accountability and reflects a continued focus on effective resource management and operational excellence.
