Alamo Chapter 1836 of the Military Order of the Purple Heart is the largest chapter in the country; dedicated to the objects of the order: commemorating all National patriotic holidays, maintaining true allegiance to the U.S. Government, preserving comradeship and patriotism among its members, aiding all distressed members and their dependents, giving hospital and service work through its service officers and members, cooperating with other civic organizations on worthy objectives, keeping alive the memory of our country’s founders, cherishing the memory General George Washington who founded the Purple Heart, teaching our citizen appreciation of the heritage of loyal citizenship, and defending the United States of America against all enemies.
