Parental Consent Now Required for Physical Health Services (SB12)

The Edgewood ISD works with school staff and parents to address the physical, mental, emotional and social health needs of each student in our district.

During the 89th Texas Legislative Session, lawmakers passed Senate Bill 12. This new law requires schools to get annual parental consent before providing routine physical or mental health services. This includes things like first aid, short-term counseling, or vision and hearing screenings.
