Districtwide Educational Improvement Council (DEIC)

The Districtwide Educational Improvement Council (DEIC) operates in compliance with Education Code 11.251-Planning and Decision Making Process serving as the District level decision-making committee. This committee includes professional staff, district business representatives, community members and parents. The committee must meet at least two times each school year.

The district level committee shall assist the superintendent in the annual development, evaluation and revision of the District Improvement Plan, as well as the District’s educational goals, performance objectives and major classroom instructional programs. The committee also advises on items including the staff development plan, approval of waivers, annual academic calendar and other matters that relate to the operation, supervision, and evaluation of the district’s educational program. Members are elected from each campus to serve staggered three year terms. District level staff are also elected. The District solicits volunteers from parents, business and community members to serve on the council.
