Edgewood Independent School District is pleased to recognize our 2020 graduates from John F. Kennedy High School and Memorial High School. Our goal is to celebrate our students' achievements with everyone's health and safety in mind. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, EISD will continue to adhere to the best practices outlined by local and state agencies, to include, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Texas Education Agency (TEA), and the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District (SA Metro Health).

Both graduation ceremonies will take place at the Edgewood Veterans Stadium (1650 W. Thompson Pl.) at 7:30 PM, with gates opening at 6:00 PM. Be aware this is an OUTDOOR event. In case of inclement weather, the graduations will be pushed back to Saturday, June 13, 2020* for both campuses.


• There will be no rehearsal for graduation. Please ensure you arrive to the JFK HS Band Hall by 6:00 pm the day of your graduation.
• Remember to dress and act appropriately (following campus dress code).
o DO NOT decorate your cap and gown in any manner.
o For your safety, girls will not be permitted to wear high heels during the ceremony on the field.
• Graduates will receive 2 parking passes for their family.
• Graduates are encouraged to arrive in the same vehicle with their family due to limited parking.
• Graduates are only allowed 4 tickets for guests. The event will be livestreamed on our district social platforms: YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.


• EISD will practice social distancing inside the venue, leaving 6 feet between groups not from the same household. Ushers will enforce safe social distancing practices.
• We are expecting it to be higher temperatures outside for the event. For your safety, please remain in your car until 6:00 pm, when the gates open.
• All attendees must complete the medical questionnaire on back of their ticket and have their temperature checked before entering the stadium.
• Guests must have the ticket present to enter the stadium. Infants and children also each need a ticket to enter the stadium.
• The following items are NOT permitted in the stadium. Guests will be asked to remove these items from the premises:

o Air horns and other noisemakers
o Balloons or confetti
o Stuffed animals
o Signs or posters of any size
o Strollers and baby carriers

• All guests must follow the clear bag policy for this event. (See graphic below)

Any graduates or guests showing the following symptoms below will not be allowed to attend the graduation:

• Cough
• Chills
• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
• Fever (100° F or higher)
• Muscle pains
• Diarrhea
• Sore throat
• New loss of taste or smell
• Or come into close contact with a person who is lab confirmed to have COVID-19
