2019 State of the District
Edgewood ISD Superintendent, Dr. Eduardo Hernandez, delivered the first annual State of the District address on Thursday, April 11, 2019. Over 150 guests gathered at The Edgewood Fine Arts Theater to include community and business partners, elected officials, and local faith leaders.
The Edgewood Independent School District is committed to engaging its network of supporters in substantive dialogue about the current status of the district and the pathway forward for the betterment of EISD scholars. Dr. Hernandez presented the five-year plan for Edgewood ISD which includes five innovations zones.
The State of the District provides a venue for presentation of this information as well as the opportunity to foster current relationships and build upon new and future partnerships. “As superintendent, my goal is to tell our story and to share the exciting future we are creating for our district,” said Dr. Eduardo Hernández.
The two-hour event was filled with informative presentations from the Superintendent, the Edgewood Education Foundation, the Department of Innovation and Transformation, and student testimonies. Edgewood student organizations, including ROTC, Mariachi, Performing Arts, and Memorial High School Culinary Arts, will showcase their skills during the event.
