JUNIOR RESERVE OFFICER TRAINING PROGRAM (JROTC)

The JROTC curriculum is accredited through AdvancED, the parent organization of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council and is aligned with differential, assessment based, learning and growth, both mental and physical.  It supports critical thinking, problem solving, STEM, writing across the curriculum, and teamwork.  Subjects include communication, government, military history, nutrition and health, inter-personal relationships, physical fitness, and personal finance.  Students are free to join JROTC at any time throughout the year.  Accommodations are made to provide additional instruction to reduce gaps in knowledge.

JROTC COUNTS AS YOUR PHYSICAL EDUCATION CREDIT OR AS AN ELECTIVE AT THE HIGH SCHOOL!

JROTC is a four-year program. You can enroll in JROTC at any year. Each year builds on the previous year’s curriculum.

LET 1 - freshman or first year JROTC student.

LET 2 - sophomore or second year JROTC student.

LET 3 - junior or third year JROTC student

LET 4 - senior or fourth year JROTC student.

    JROTC PREPARES YOU FOR LIFE!

JROTC is a regular high school class taught during the normal school hours. Developing a positive attitude about citizenship is the cornerstone of the program. Courtesy, respect, and integrity are a few of the values we stress with the students. We teach students what it takes to be a good leader and a good follower. We also offer many extracurricular activities: Academics & Leadership, Cyber Patriot, Color Guard, Drill Team, Rifle Marksmanship, Physical Fitness & Raiders, a Summer Camp, fundraising and community service projects. Our teams compete at various local, regional, state, and national competitions. Varsity letters are awarded!

THERE IS NO MILITARY OBLIGATION WHATSOEVER!

No student is under any military obligation. We do, however, use military methods and techniques of instruction to teach goal setting, teamwork, self-discipline, self-confidence and pride in a job well done. Cadets wear the uniform once a week. All uniforms and equipment are provided free of charge. JROTC is an excellent choice if you are considering entering Military Service upon graduation, enrolling in ROTC at college, applying for an ROTC college scholarship, or applying for any of our U.S. Military Academies (i.e. West Point, Annapolis, Air Force, Coast Guard, or Merchant Marine Academies).

But JROTC is beneficial for any student because it is designed to help in three crucial areas important to the development of young people becoming better citizens.  The three areas are moral, physical and mental excellence.  JROTC helps to foster proper moral and ethnic behavior, build physical fitness through endurance and cardiovascular training and stimulate mental development through innovative and thought provoking intellectual interaction.
