It is my honor to serve the Edgewood community.  I am proud to have been part of the E.T. Wrenn family for the past 5 years. I am dedicated and committed to serving and supporting our scholars through their middle school years so that they will be success in high school and life. I am passionate about providing an environment in which students feel safe, supported, and are active learners.  It is my goal for every single child to reach and exceed their individual potential and goals. I will hold myself and our Wrenn team members accountable for student learning that is engaging and rigorous, and providing an environment that is supportive, safe and respectful. I always strive to be fair, consistent, a good listener, and continue to grow as a person and professionally. 

I have served and supported students in a variety of capacities during my 27 years in education. I have served as a teacher, athletic coach, assistant principal, and principal.  I am a proud Summa Cum Laude graduate of Texas A&I University of Kingsville with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. I then went on to receive my Master's Degree in Education Administration from Texas A&M University of Kingsville.

The core of who I am revolves around being part of a wonderful family.   My life away from school completely and happily revolves around my beautiful grandchildren, amazing children, and loving husband!  I love using power tools to create things, a good book, being outside, and a great cup of coffee. My two favorite quotes are from Maya Angelou:

Mr. G. Rudd Larson

Mr. Larson is entering his second year as an assistant principal at E.T. Wrenn. He is looking forward to continuing all the good things that were going on last year, and can’t wait to start working with the new 6th, 7th, and 8th graders! Prior to entering administration, Mr. Larson taught science at the high school and college levels. At the high school, he taught Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, and ChemBridge. Mr. Larson loves education and takes every opportunity to learn new things and teach others the things he has learned.

Mr. Larson has attended several universities over his career as a student. He started by getting his Bachelor’s degree in Biology at Texas Tech University. From there, he moved up to Michigan State University, where he taught and did research on the genetics of plants acclimating to low temperatures. After receiving his M.S. in Genetics, Mr. Larson returned home to San Antonio. He then got his Principal Certification from Lamar University.

Mr. Larson grew up all over Texas, but has called the San Antonio area home since middle school. Mr. Larson was very glad to be able to bring his family back to San Antonio with him after graduating from MSU. He and his wife have three children: an 8 yr. old girl, a 6 yr. old boy, and a 4 yr. old girl. Mr. Larson loves all sports. In school, he played football and basketball, threw the shot put, and competed on the cheerleading squad. In his spare time, Mr. Larson also loves to read, especially science fiction & fantasy books or manga.
