Before you arrive

tarting a new position is an exciting time and we share in your excitement! Undoubtedly, you have many questions that make the transition seem overwhelming at times. The following pages will help you navigate through your first year of employment with Edgewood ISD and keep you connected and informed. Please reach out to your supervisor and/or the Human Resources Department with any questions that are not answered here.

What to bring to signing/processing day

  • Your ID (Driver's License, State issued ID or US Passport)
  • Your Social Security card (for payroll purposes)
  • A blank check (for direct deposit)
  • IRS tax dependent information for your I9 form
  • Your daily schedule, job description, and general expectations

Every position is unique; therefore, daily schedules, job responsibilities, and expectations vary according to your new role. Following the steps below will assist you in acclimating to your new workplace:

  • Reach out to your principal/supervisor to determine your first week's schedule
  • Review hours and days of work. Learn about overtime procedures, personal leave time, holidays, and any flexible work procedures
  • Set up your workspace and/or classroom, if possible
  • Get a tour of your campus and/or workspace
