DREAM - Dedicated to Readiness in Employment, Academics and Military

Purpose: The DREAM Center is the "go-to" place at our high schools, where students and parents find post-secondary education, career and military information. The DREAM Center specialists and mentors facilitate the academic needs of high school students, striving to make the transition between high school and post-secondary options seamless.
Services Provided

Through the DREAM Center, students will have access to:

  • Individual assistance or self-guided tools through Naviance
    • Career and aptitude tests
    • Test information (TSI 2.0, SAT, ASVAB, ACT etc.)
  • FAFSA assistance, financial aid resources, and college admission literature/applications
  • Scholarship opportunities available to include:
    • The Compadres for Scholarships
    • Edgewood Education Foundation
    • Edgewood District Veterans Scholarship
    • San Antonio Education Partnership Scholarship
    • AlamoPromise
  • Research on colleges, preparation for college fairs and help creating a balanced college list
  • General college application support (help/advice on applications, major selection)
  • Workshops on preparing for college, essay topics, college lists and writing the “Why” essay
  • Access to resources for the college application process (books, handouts, presentations)
  • Information about other career pathways outside of college; and
  • Information about Community College (degree/certificate programs and transfer agreements to 4-year universities)
  • Work-based opportunities (internships, volunteer opportunities, summer programs, part-time jobs)
  • Resume reviews/feedback
  • Appointments for one-on-one meetings with student (and parents, if needed)
DREAM Center Partners

Who resides in the DREAM Center?
The DREAM Center will host various community partners whose goal is to ensure students obtain access to scholarships, college applications, internship and employment opportunities, as well as military options. The community partners below are scheduled to provide services at various times throughout the week in order to meet with students, provide classroom presentations, and support district and state-wide initiatives.

DREAM Center operates during school hours (8:15 - 4:15) in the following locations:
