OnRamps

OnRamps
is a dual enrollment program in which EISD students take rigorous courses that are aligned with the high standards and expectations of The University of Texas at Austin.  In OnRamps, students learn first-hand all that it takes to succeed in college before they get there.

Program Description: Student coursework is graded by an EISD teacher and a UT professor. The student receives two separate grades. The grade issued by the EISD teacher will be recorded on the student’s EISD transcript and the grade awarded by the UT professor determines the student’s eligibility to earn the college credits for that course. If eligible to earn credit, the student has the option within the allowable window of time to accept the college credit.

Program Benefits: The key benefit for the OnRamps program is to provide:
* Access: UT Austin experience
* Transferability: Transfer college credit to public colleges and universities
* Flexibility: No TSI requirements
* Saves Money: EISD pays tuition & textbooks; Earn 3 hours per course
* Preparation: Exposure to college expectations, easing the transition from high school to college.

Student Expectations:

* Students learn first-hand what it takes to succeed at the college level and how they can meet those expectations.

* Students learn by using the same digital tools and must have online access as full-time UT Austin students.

* Students must meet independent work outside of class including college classwork and quizzes deadlines and take college-level timed exams.

How do EISD students enroll:

* In early spring semester 2020, students can discuss with their high school campus counselor and check the required prerequisites to enroll.
* At the start of the fall semester of the OnRamps course, students will complete the registration process with the University of Texas at Austin.
