Intersession Calendar

Our District calendar includes intersession weeks strategically placed throughout the school year to lessen instructional gaps. These periods support and improve student academics by offering instruction tailored to students' individual needs. Intersessions will be well planned, targeted learning opportunities for students. Please confirm with your campus' academic calendar, as not all EISD campuses follow an intersession calendar.
  

2022-2023 Intersession Dates:

  • October 11 - 14, 2022
  • January 3 - 6, 2023
  • June 12 - 16, 2023


Important Factors:
1. Intersessions will be assigned to students based on academic or social emotional needs.
2. The intersessions are strategically placed to provide real-time support to keep students on track.
3. Intersessions are for recovery and advancement.


Why Intersession?
Intersession is an extension of the school year that provides students with additional instruction in key content areas.  The goal is to decrease any learning gaps that may have occurred over the last year. The intersession weeks will allow us to bring in targeted groups of students to address specific content gaps and get them back on track with real time support rather than waiting until the summer. In addition, we will be able to offer acceleration to our students who need further content enrichment. This time will allow for brain breaks and take our students further into the traditional summer months to reduce summer slide.
