
The
Texas Council for International Studies (TCIS) is partnering with
Roy Cisneros Leadership School for Boys and
Las Palmas Leadership School for Girls to bring a wealth of knowledge and opportunities surrounding
International Baccalaureate (IB) schools. This curriculum teaches the necessary skills to research, collaborate, and communicate with their classmates, teachers, and outside community.
Roy Cisneros Leadership School for Boys held a ribbon-cutting on Wednesday, September 8, 2021. Attendees heard inspirational words from the Head of School, Ida Nuńez, EISD Superintendent Dr. Hernández and TCIS CEO Margaret Davis. As a surprise for the audience, the campus was also presented with a brand-new Little Locker, a free library to promote community literacy, thanks to local non-profit,
SA YES.
Las Palmas Leadership School for Girls hosted their ribbon-cutting on Thursday, September 9, 2021. Head of School, Monica Muñoz spoke to the audience about the importance of empowering young girls and teaching them to become leaders in their communities. Her words were echoed by Dr. Hernandez and Margaret Davis. The event closed out with
Bexar County Sheriff's Office donating new uniforms to all students in the Leadership School for Girls.
It was an exciting week full of new beginnings!
