This is the image for the news article titled Teen Board and Women with Vision CollaborateFor the first time, Women with Vision and Teen Board came together to share their ideas on how to improve community and learning environments in EISD.

Attendees grouped together to discuss important topics such as teacher recruitment plans and how to identify the ideal teacher profile.

“It made a lot of sense for these two groups to come together and collaborate on a single mission,” said Marisa Diaz-Perez, EISD Director of Strategic Partnerships. “It’s one thing to have an employee of the district be a mentor but it means a lot for a community member, who has a passion to support, be there for our students.”

Teen Board represents a cohesive student voice that will drive policy decisions at the district and state levels. Women with Vision is an alliance of the district’s most involved, collaborative and committed female, scholar family members. The hope of this first-time meeting is to build a strong network of support around each other.
