The Foundation understands how difficult this school year has been for our students and educators. That’s why we decided to implement a Classroom Stimulus Grant to help our teachers make learning exciting for the rest of the school year and beyond. This micro-grant awards classroom teachers with $250 to purchase an array of items described in their applications. The Foundation received dozens of applications within a week and a small committee reviewed the applications and selected winners from various campuses. The selected applications were truly innovative in making learning fun. Projects include: a DIY yearbook for the students to reflect back on this year; time-management planners to assist with learning from home; a button-maker to create fun buttons centered around math; and motor skills + sensory items to make classroom learning more hands on.

The following 18 winners were selected:

  • Robert Asher - Edgewood Fine Arts Academy

  • Dorothy Castillo - Henry B. Gonzalez Elementary

  • Cristina Cisneros - Cardenas Early Childhood Center

  • Bianca Contreras - Gus Garcia University School
