Students Get a Closer Look at Endorsement Opportunities

It was a packed house in Edgewood Gym as middle school students arrived at our annual Endorsement Showcase. Scholars learned more about the numerous programs, certifications, and career pathways offered at EISD from counselors and teachers.
Michael, a Gus Garcia Middle School student, already has his heart set on an industry. "I want to work with computers and IT. I think it's really neat that our district offers programs like these."
Eighth-grade students are required to choose an endorsement before entering high school. Endorsements consist of a related series of courses that are grouped together by interest or skill set such as Criminal Justice, Manufacturing, Cosmetology and more.
