Welcome to the world of Art! I am so excited to share another year with the amazing students of Stafford Elementary.  I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to share my passion and knowledge of Art with the students of this community.

It brings me great pride and joy to see the amazing work my students create by applying their talents, knowledge and imaginations to their art. This will be my 15th year teaching Art and my 13th year teaching here at Stafford Elementary.

Here's a little bit about my Professional Life: I began my studies at San Antonio College, where my focus was on Music. I studied Theory, Percussion, and Guitar.  During my 3rd semester I decided to take a Drawing and Painting class and I discovered a new passion for the visual arts. I then transferred to Texas State University in the beautiful city of San Marcos, Texas. After my first semester, I decided to focus my studies on Visual Arts rather than Music. I earned my BFA in Studio Art with a focus in Painting and Fibers. After graduation, I held several jobs in the art field:Graphic Design, Apparel Design, Food Stylist, Jewelry Design, Working Artist, Photographer, Musician...and the list goes on. I decided to return to school to earn an all-level certification to teach Art. I began teaching at Hays High School in Kyle, Texas, then transferred to Tobias Elementary, also in Kyle. I moved to San Antonio, and began my, now, 13 year career at Stafford Elementary. I have been teaching for 15 years and have had the pleasure of working with so many amazing people. It has been an experience that has shaped my life. I have had many challenges, learned many lessons, and have had many opportunities to exceed expectations.

As an Educator, my goal is always to inspire students to access their imaginations and find their own creative, artistic voice. I believe through the study of Art, people can develop a deeper appreciation of their individual and collective presence in this world. My aim is to facilitate student learning by inspiring and encouraging creative thought, invention, individuality, dedication, good citizenship, hard work, and good times.

I strongly believe that every child has the right to learn in an enthusiastic, positive, safe environment. Because of this I hold students to very high standards when it comes to citizenship. I feel all students should be respectful of others, and strive to posses excellent character.  I am always looking to celebrate students who are trying new things, have a positive attitude and most importantly, are doing their best!  I will work to support all students to ensure their success here at Stafford, and help provide the skills and confidence they will use throughout their lives.

From each student I expect: Attention, Effort, Respect, Teamwork and Success!

I am looking forward to an exciting year!
