  • Can We Get Some Colt Cash?

Posted by Gabriela Hirsch at 10/26/2014 4:20:00 PM
We want colt cash! My students are wanting to get more colt cash. They have been trying to do better in the hallway, cafeteria and rotations. When they are picked up from these places the adults have said they were good. But where was the colt cash? They have had adults comment on what a wonderful line when they walk - but again no colt cash. I have given my students 3 colt cash dollars for doing a wonderful job when I needed their help during testing. I did receive one from the coaches. But how can we get more? Where is the colt cash? Are we short of money? Any ideas where the cash may be? Please let me know what we need to do to get your colt cash.

  • When Their Work is Done

Posted by Gabriela Hirsch at 10/26/2014 4:00:00 PM
Keeping the kids in learning mode when they are done with their work is always a challenge. One thing that has helped me is using dry erase pouches and markers with activities they can complete to practice skills they need to work on. One activity I use is writing the missing number. They complete this activity when they are done with their work and it's not time to change groups. The students seem to enjoy this activity. The challenge for me is the students mess up the dry erase markers or lose the lids. Please send me any ideas on how to minimize damage to the markers or any other ideas as to what they can do when their work is done.
