Welcome to the Memorial High School Library webpage! The library is open before, during, and after school and the hours are from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm for students and staff. Teacher may come in and use the library during planning, as well as before and after school. Students may come into the library before and after school without a pass, but during school hours they MUST bring an official, signed and dated pass from their teacher.
Students, please place your backpacks on the shelves by the door as you enter the library. Place pass in the box and sign in at the circulation desk (name, time of arrival, and reason, etc.). Don't forget to sign out, but please leave your pass! If you need a return pass to class, please request one.
The library has approximately 50 desktop computers for student use. Students have access to free printing, as long as it is school or job related. School computers are not to be used to play games or watch videos during school hours.
Students may check out up to 3 books for a 2-week period. Overdue or lost books (including those owed since elementary/middle school) will stay on your "bill" until paid/cleared and must be paid before graduation or you will not be allowed to walk the stage. Otherwise, you may still check out books, but only 1 at a time until the balance is cleared. If you need longer than 2 weeks to finish reading the book you may renew the book for another 2 weeks. There are no overdue fines, but books do need to be returned or paid for if lost or damaged. To find a book, please go to the Dewey the Library Catalog picture on the library homepage, click on the picture and this will open up the online search catalog. If you need assistance in finding the book, please ask and I will be happy to help you.
If you are looking for a book that we do not have, there are a few options: 1) We can check other libraries within the district and see about an interlibrary loan; 2) we can check with the San Antonio Library for availability; or 3) we can add it to my request list and I will put it on my order when it comes time to order books.
The library carries approximately 50 magazine subscriptions (see the entire list on the link on the Library Resources page), and the USA Today newspaper.
