We are in full swing for the 2012-2013 school year and would love for you to be a part of this prestigious organization! Mu Alpha Theta is an honor society, based in community service and outreach. Our goal will be to foster a greater understanding in math at MHS, as well as generate an interest in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).MEETING TIMESOur meetings will take place on the first and third Wednesday of every month. They will run from 4:30 - 4:50 PM and be held in room 207. These times and dates are always subject to change, but changes will be announced ahead of time.MEMBERSHIPMembership for the 2011-2012 school year will be based on four things: level of mathematics, membership dues, community service (peer tutoring), and academic achievement. To become a full member, each student must:
CURRENT OFFICERSThe 2012-2013 Mu Alpha Theta officers are:
- Be enrolled in a math class that is at a level of Algebra II or higher
- Maintain at least a 90 average (for a regular course), or 80 (for an AP, DC, or Pre-AP course) in that math course
- Complete a minimum of 10 hours of peer tutoring EACH semester, and
- Pay the required $12.00 membership dues.
