Mission Statement
The Edgewood ISD Staff
Development Department focuses on collaborative learning to
enhance student achievement through the use of disaggregated
data and research based strategies.
In order to realize the vision of Edgewood
ISD, the staff development department believes that it should……
- Serve District educators at all
career phases (preservice and practicing) and at all levels
(elementary, middle, secondary, and central office)
- Provide opportunities for discussion,
group study, collaboration, and reflection relevant to
promising practices that will improve instruction to meet
the needs of all students
- Empower others to share their
strengths for the purposes of promoting lifelong learning
through professional staff development.
- Communicate relevant information,
ideas, and research.
- Coordinate training events and
provide resources and support for lifelong learning.
- Recognize contributions and
accomplishments in the area of promising practices and
lifelong learning.
- Collaborate with other organizations
and institutions in related activities.
- Provide a quality, new teacher
mentoring and induction program that will positively impact
new teacher retention and student achievement.
