The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness Modified (STAAR™ Modified) will replace the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills–Modified (TAKS–M) beginning in the 2011–2012 school year for third through entering ninth grade students who meet the STAAR Modified participation requirements. STAAR Modified includes end-of-course (EOC) assessments and new grades 3–8 assessments to be implemented in the 2011–2012 school year.
