The Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report for June 17, 2011 reported that nationwide only 15.3% of high schools students met the AHP 2010 objectives for aerobic activity.
Also, according to the Centers for Disease Control Prevention, childhood obesity has tripled in the last thirty years. They stated that in 2008, over one third of children and adolescents were overweight.
Okay, so we do not exercise enough and we are overweight. This is a big problem. These behaviors will lead to numerous health risks and will reduce our quality of life. What can our school do to help reverse these trends?
