Some students enter the Edgewood school system at the age of three and exit the school system at the age of eighteen. During this time the students consume around 360 meals a year (breakfast and lunch). That is a lot of food. In light of the current obesity rates, is the school district using this opportunity to help steer the students toward a healthy lifestyle? What more can we do?
Our cafeteria staff at Memorial does a great job in preparing the food that they are given. I checked out the health scores from the San Antonio Health Department and in the last four years our cafeteria had four perfect health scores. Way to go! But, are we doing enough?
