This is a supplemental assignment that is due on Thursday, November 15, 2012. These problems encompass every method of differentiating we have used thus far. The assignment is as follows:
Read Example 7 on page 151
Page 153: 49, 50, 52
I have some special instructions for 49 and 50. For these two problems you can find the derivative two ways. The first of these is to find the derivative by expanding out the numerator and then using quotient rule. The second is to use both product rule and quotient rule (like in example 7). I want to see both solutions for 49 and 50.
So, all in all, I should see five different solutions--two for 49, two for 50, and one for 52.
However, for some extra credit, I would like you to show me two different ways of solving 52 as well.
