Persuasive Using Newspaper Ads

This weeks skill in Reading is Persuasion: The students have homework today to complete a project. I gave them each an ad from this Sunday's newspaper. They have to select one item to persuade the class into buying. Tomorrow they will have ONE MINUTE to present to the class (since we only have 30 minutes for Language Arts and there are 21 students). They have to draw an illustration, make their case based on facts, and the class will vote either YES or NO on whether or not they would be persuaded to buy this item.(using our handy dandy homemade dry erase boards)
 
The students were very excited about it, please feel free help your kids with this. They were given construcion paper, instructed to draw and color tonight for homework, and know that they will each present tomorrow morning!
 
I can't wait!!! 
 
Update: Here are some of the products! Students did great, and most got votes of YES, so their persuassion arguments were great!!

Delilah did a great job in selling us some make up! Miguel did great in slashing that price!

Marissa sold us on some great ice cream! She managed to included that "no refunds"..lol Noah didn't have to say much, the class was "sold" when he said VIDEO GAMES!!!
