The Fredericksburg Battling Billies turned two Memorial turnovers into ten quick points and built a quick 17-0 lead midway thru the first quarter. The Billies also scored on five of there first six drives en route to a 57-14 victory over the Minutemen on Friday night at Mata Stadium. Richard Cazares intercepted a pass stopping a Fredericksburg drive and thus preventing a score.

Despite being down throughout the game, Memorial never gave up. After a Billies score, David Manzano returned a kickoff 100 yards for the Minutemens' first score of the night. On there next possesion, Manases Cano scored on a 68 yard pitchout from quarterback Alfred Ramos. Raul Rangel scored the two point conversion.

Memorial travels this Friday to take on the Lytle Pirates in Lytle, TX. Kickoff is set for 7pm. The next home game will be on Friday, September 27th when the Minutemen host Southside at Mata Stadium with a 7pm kickoff. It will also be Homecoming so we encourage all Memorial alumni to attend the game.
