Choir
 
A typical day in the Choir class
 
      Warm Up
         Vocal exercises
         Rhythm exercises
         Melodic Dictation
         Improvisation
 
      Sight Reading
 
      Expanding on Music concepts through Repertoire
 
      Warm Down
 
      
 The student will be graded on daily participation, attendance at concerts and music assignments given in class. Attendace to concerts are Test grades and mandatory for those students performing. The student will need to be in proper attire, display concert etiquette and participate for the whole concert to recieve a 100.
 
The Beginning Choir will have 3 concerts:
 
      Thursday December 13th, 6pm at the Wrenn Cafeteria
 
      Tuesday March 5th, 6pm at the Wrenn Cafeteria
 
      Tuesday May 7th, 6pm at the Wrenn Cafeteria
 
The Advanced Girls (Treble) and Advance  Boys (Tenor/Bass) Choirs will have 4 concerts and a UIL performance
 
      Tuesday October 16th, 6pm at the Wrenn Cafeteria
 
      Thursday December 13th, 6pm at the Wrenn Cafeteria
 
      Tuesday March 5th, 6pm at the Wrenn Cafeteria
 
      UIL Performance at Jay High School Time and Date TBA
 
      Tuesday May 7th, 6pm at the Wrenn Cafeteria
 
 
 For the Advanced Choir students there will be a Region Choir contest at Marshall on Saturday October 13th. If the student passes the readyness test for the teacher he/she will be chosen to represent the school district to compete on this day.
