Welcome to DIANNE WESTON
     Welcome to the AVID classroom.  AVID is an acronym for Advancement Via Individual Determination.  This class is an introduction in being prepared for college.  We encourage students who have a desire to attend college and just don't know quite how to get there.  AVID will show the students the skills to that will help them achieve their goals of becoming college graduates.  Those skills include organization, study habits, tutorials, and encouraging them to take pre-ap and ap classes.  We challenge these students to test the limits of their ability and show them they can overcome preconceived notions that "I'm not smart enough".  To see the faces of these students when "the light comes on" and they realize they can achieve success in the ap classes is like nothing you will see any place else.
