Parent, Family and Community Engagement is an integral part of all aspects of Edgewood ISD and a contributing factor to the academic success of our students. Each Edgewood ISD campus has an assigned Parent Educator who works to promote and support the active involvement of our parents, families and communities.
The 2012-2013 school year brings excitement to Parent, Family and Community Engagement for Edgewood ISD as many new and exciting events are taking place at the district and campus levels! Parents, families and community members will have the opportunity to participate in:
Various topics are promoted throughout the year at the district and campus levels based on monthly Parent, Family and Community Engagement themes.
District-wide committees are in place where parents, families and community members can learn about district initiatives, serve as decision-makers, serve as leaders, build skills, learn about college and career readiness and state assessments, and participate in active district and campus level Parent Family Advisory Councils (PFAC).
These are just a few examples of the activities planned for this year. Keep an eye on the Parental Involvement website as more information and resources will be included.
Feel free to contact me or any campus Parent Educator if you have any questions or ideas to improve our program.
Have a wonderful 2012-2013 school year! This will be the year of:
