The Parent, Family and Community Engagement Program is an integral part of all aspects of Edgewood ISD and a contributing factor to the academic success of our students.

Each Edgewood ISD campus has an assigned Parent Liaison who works to promote and support the active involvement of our parents, families and community.

The 2014-2015 school year brings many new and exciting events that will take place at the district and campus level! Parents, families, and community members will have the opportunity to participate in:

  • Volunteering
  • Learning to be your child's first teacher
  • Home-based learning activities
  • Developing leadership skills
  • Parenting Classes
  • District initiatives
  • Professional development opportunities

Various topics are promoted throughout the year at the district and campus level based on monthly academic themes.

District-wide committees are in place where parents, families, and community members can learn about various district initiatives, serve as decision-makers, serve as leaders, build skills, learn about college and career readiness, and state assessments.

These are just a few examples of the committees and activities planned for this school year. Keep an eye on the Parental Engagement website as more information and resources become available.

Feel free to contact me or your campus Parent Liaison if you have any questions or ideas to improve our program.

Have a wonderful 2014-2015 school year!
