Hello and welcome! I am the Life Skills teacher at Cisneros Elementary.
I grew up in Brenham, Texas, home of Blue Bell Ice Cream. I attended Brenham High School where I participated in the choir, played varsity soccer for four years and held small parts in two of our theatre productions. I spent to years at Concordia University at Austin, playing collegiate soccer before attending Texas State University where I graduated with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Business Administration. I worked for several years at Nordstrom and then at Texas Monthly Magazine in Austin, Texas.
In 2008, I returned to Texas State University to pursue a degree in education. I graduated in August 2009 with a Master of Education with a focus in Elementary Special Education. While in school, I served as a teaching assistant in the Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities at Eanes Elementary in Austin.
This summer I married the love of my life, Noah. We have been busy this summer, spending time with our rescue dog, Watson, and working to open his first business, One Lucky Duck Juice & Takeaway in the Pearl Brewery.
It is hard to believe, but this will be my fifth year at Roy Cisneros teaching Life Skills. I look forward to seeing all of my returning students and meeting the new ones. I look forward to getting to know each of you. Throughout the year, we will learn social, daily living, and academic skills to help you child be successful.
