Introduction to Instructional Technology's
Assessments of EISD Educators' Technology Knowledge & Skills
As required by
TEA, Edgewood ISD has adopted a new District Technology Plan.
TEA required that we base our Plan on the
Texas School Technology and Readiness (STaR)
Chart.
A major portion of our Plan refers to the four
sections of the STaR chart called "Key Areas".
Each Key Area is
subdivided into "Focus Areas". "Levels of Progress" in
each Focus Area describe our current state of development of
implementation of technology, and the next level we plan on
achieving. We have added gold rectangles to the copy of
the STaR chart in this web to indicate our current Levels of
Progress.
Our Level of Progress in Focus Area
(H) Capabilities of Educators
shows that we estimate 30% of EISD educators meet Texas State
Board of Educator Certification (SBEC) proficiencies, and
implement them in their classrooms. See the details
of SBEC's
Knowledge and Skills.
(The original material can be found at
SBEC's web site.)
A principal means of developing
these proficiencies is through our Staff Development sessions.
The most objective means of confirming these proficiencies is by
having EISD Educators take a series of Instructional Technology
Assessments, described on
Preparing for EISD's Assessments of
Educators' Instructional Technology Knowledge & Skills.
