Schedules
Salary Review Committee
School District Board Policy TEA Legal and
Local requires that the Superintendent create an administrative salary
review committee. The responsibilities of the Salary Review Committee
are the following:
- Review any position
where a question exists as to the grade established for the
position;
- Recommend a pay
grade for a new position, or recommend a change in pay grade due to
changes in responsibilities, job requirements, and the like; and
- Recommend changes in
salary ranges based on changes in the marketplace.
As per Board Policy, all requests for
salary review must be submitted in writing to the Superintendent or
designee. You may submit recommendations throughout the year; however,
the committee only meets once a year.
A request to review a job classification
must be initiated by the supervisor and approved by the appropriate
Executive Director. The committee may determine that additional job
information, a job analysis questionnaire, or an interview with the
supervisor or employee is necessary. The committee will review for
internal equity and alignment as well as other factors to arrive at a
decision. A written recommendation is then prepared and submitted to
the Superintendent for review and approval. The Superintendent then
forwards the recommendations along with any of his recommendations to
the Board for final approval.
Pay Review Request
Employees may request that a pay review be
conducted. A pay review request is different from a job classification
request to the Salary Review Committee. A pay review request is simply
that, a review of the requestor's salary. The Human Resources Manager
reviews the requestor's current pay to make sure that it is in line with
the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) salary scales as approved
by the Board of Trustees.
