CIS     Welcome to CIS

Communities In Schools of San Antonio surrounds students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.  
By bringing resources, community agencies, parents and volunteers into schools, we create a community of caring adults who work hand-in-hand with educators.  Through a holistic, one-on-one case management approach, CIS-SA is able to reach out to students most at risk for dropping out of school.  If you would like your student to participate, please discuss any social/emotional, academic and/or health concerns your child is experiencing with your child’s teacher or counselor.  
CIS-SA also helps families who are in need of social services.  At Loma Park Elementary School we can help families with the following:
  • uniforms/clothing,
  • school supplies,
  • hygiene items,
  • weekend food assistance for children,
  • vision vouchers, and
  • emergency assistance.

Please note that resources are limited and there may be qualification requirements for some of these social services.  CIS-SA is always looking for parent volunteers to help out with school events.  If you would like more information on how to volunteer, please visit our website at http://www.cissa.org/.
