Welcome to the EISD Fine Arts Department

Edgewood ISD has many successful (and growing) fine arts programs available to our students including:
 
  • Middle School Band programs which have earned 1st divisions at UIL Concert & Sight-reading Contests
  • High School Band programs that have earned Sweepstakes honors at both UIL Marching Contests & UIL Concert & Sight-reading Contests, advanced to Area Marching Contests, won 1st place at the Fiesta Band Festival and chosen to be "Feature Band" at the annual Fiesta Band Festival
  • Memorial High School music program named by the NAMM Foundation as an "Outstanding Supporter of Music Education" in 2014-2015
  • Memorial High School Theater program that has advanced to the UIL State One Act Play Competition
  • Fine Arts Academy Theater program advancing to the International Thespian Festival in Lincoln, Nebraska
  • Middle School Theater program that has won honors at the regional level.
  • High School Art program with students advancing to the State VASE competition
  • Middle School Art program with students participating in JRVASE competition
  • Elementary Art students selected as winners in city-wide competitions
  • Elementary Music students selected to perform on local television stations during the holidays
  • Winston Elementary School music program named by the NAMM Foundation as an "Outstanding Supporter of Music Education" in 2015-2016
  • Ten Magnet Programs: Cisneros Elementary & Roosevelt Elementary: Choir; Las Palmas Elementary & Loma Park Elementary: Ballet Folklorico; Winston Elementary & Gardendale Elementary: Strings; HBG Elementary & LBJ Elementary: Guitar; & Perales Elementary & Stafford Elementary: Piano
  • Winston Elementary, Gardendale Elementary and Fine Arts Academy students taking private lessons on string instruments through Youth Orchestras of San Antonio
  • Mariachi chosen to perform at business/educational conventions and featured along with our Ballet Folklorico on television
  • Ballet Folklorico competing throughout Texas and winning honors in solo and ensemble dance
  • Dance team competing in regional competitions and winning "Best in Class" honors
  • San Antonio Symphony concerts at the Fine Arts Academy Theater in Edgewood ISD
