Welcome to the Community Service Club website!
Sponsored by Ms. Debbie Matusko, 5th Grade Teacher; Mrs. Karen Cabello, 3rd Grade Teacher;
Ms. Debra Andrew, Communities in Schools; and Mr. Joseph Manjarrez, School Counselor

The Community Service Club strives to instill social values in 4th and 5th grade students through school and community projects. We hope to increase student participation and engagement in school. Being part of a community/school improvement project increases positive feelings about school and community. We hope to prepare students to become involved in many more efforts in the future.

Throughout the year, we will sponsor a Campaign entitled Character Building through Literacy. We will kick-off the year with a Parade/Walk through the neighborhood and meet back at school with parents for a snack, a short overview presentation about Character Building through Literacy, followed by an Open House which will include the Scholastic Bus as well as other helpful attendees. We will also sponsor a fruit and cookie drive for local firefighters and the Edgewood Police, a food drive for the San Antonio Food Bank, an Angel Tree, a Fun and Friendly February campaign, and Teacher Appreciation Month in May.

We meet twice monthly in Room G201 (Ms. Matusko's room) from 3:30 to 4:30 P.M. on specified meeting dates.
