There are numerous companies seeking qualified and skilled team members to meet their growing demands.  Toyota is looking for people certified in the automotive industry, Boeing is searching for individuals with a strong aeronautical background, and the medical industry is seeking pharmacy technicians. This is a mere sampling of some of the employers that are opening their doors to people with the right vocational background and certifications.

Edgewood ISD Hosts a Business Partnership Breakfast

The Edgewood School District hosted a Business Partnership Breakfast in June to encourage area businesses to become partners in education with our students.  More than 250 invited guests were present for the event which featured a video showcasing student success. Gloria Valle, CTE/Partnerships Director, shared a vision of partnerships in Edgewood schools. The School/Business Partnerships is looking for mentors, corporate volunteers, members to serve on a task force and advisory committees, corporate trainers/ consultants, advisors for curriculum development and providers of facilities and services. It is up to each business to determine the extent of their partnership with the school. A large corporation may have the resources to commit to a large partnership project, whereas, a small business with only a few employees would not.
