Prior to this event, she was named the June Scobee Rodgers Innovative Educator of the Year by the Scobee Education Center. This prestigious award recognizes an outstanding educator who understands the importance of STEM education and demonstrates enthusiasm and passion in teaching STEM subjects.

After recognizing Breanna, the Scobee Center invited her to send in a question for an upcoming inflight education event with NASA. The question she chose was all about space travel and its future plans for the world to explore.

"What do you see in the future for private citizens who wish to take a commercial spaceflight? And if possible, how far into the future do you anticipate this could happen?" she asked.

Breanna was one of ten people who were able to participate and the only teacher from the San Antonio area.

"This was a once in a lifetime opportunity that I was excited to be a part of and one that I would not have thought I would have in my lifetime."
