Fifteen schools, 16-teams, but only one winner! Huge congratulations to Memorial High school seniors Abrianna Rodriguez, Harold Tolbert, and Leslie Martinez.
The culinary arts students participated in the Art Institute and H.E.A.T. (Hospitality Educators Association of Texas) competition and won first place.
“During the competition students were given a mystery basket and had to use four items chosen for them, with the option of using several more items,” said, Christopher Hancock, Culinary Arts instructor. "I was given 30-minutes to help them plan, but was not allowed in the kitchen where the students had 2-hours to cook,”
Aside from winning the trophy all three students also won $500 scholarships to the college of their choice.
