I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. I received all of my education in the Edgewood School District. I graduated from Memorial High School in 2002. I have the privilage of saying while I was at Memorial, I was apart of the 2001-2002 Girls' Basketball team which went to playoffs. We were the first Girls' Basketball Team in Edgewood Distrist to make it to playoffs. After graduating from high school, I went on to the University of Texas at San Antonio. Go 'Runners During my time at UTSA I studied Communications and went on to receive my Bachelor's of Arts in Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations and a Minor in Sociology.
I am currently in my 5th year teaching, all which have been at Kennedy High School. I have enjoyed my time at Kennedy and have met many awesome people while I have been here. At Kennedy, I Co-Sponsor Academic Decathlon and National Technical Honor Society and am an UIL Academic Coach for Extemperanous Speech and Current Events. During the 2011-2012 school year 2 of my UIL students made it to Regional Competition in Extemperanous Speech.
In addition to being a teacher I am also a mother and a wife. I have a wonderful husband named Raul and we have one son, Raul Jr. (RJ).
