I was born in New Hall, California and raised in South Texas. I moved to San Antonio in 1998 to attend the University of Texas at San Antonio, where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication and Minor in Sociology. It is also where I completed the coursework for my ELAR Teaching Certification. I am currently working towards a Master’s Degree in Reading and Literacy.
This year begins my 6
th year teaching at Kennedy High School. I am fortunate to be a part of a great team of educators. I absolutely love teaching and I can’t imagine myself doing anything else. There is nothing more rewarding than knowing that I may have had a hand in positively influencing the life of a student.
Next to my love for teaching is my love of animals. I have two rescues, a pit-bull named Lucky and a Chihuahua named Bambi. I also have a pesky little rabbit that we named Bunny.
I urge parents and students to keep an open line of communication and to always feel free to come to me with questions, comments, or concerns.
